Acquired by the City in 1946, the grounds saw the recreation center built in 1954 and formally dedicated in 1975. Inside, the facility includes gymnasiums used for basketball and volleyball, a weight room, a kitchen, and rooms for meetings and games. Outdoor amenities expand the footprint with two lighted tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, and a sand tot lot.
