At 7101 Avenue T, Bergen Beach Playground pairs basketball and handball courts with spray showers. In 1918, fill connected the former island of Winnipague to the Brooklyn mainland. The 0.93-acre jointly operated playground is public and open Monday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Court users can bring a ball, while families may cool off at the spray showers. This layout keeps court sports and water play in one neighborhood setting.
Northeast Corner Recreation
Beside Harlem Meer, the 2018 rebuild arranges this compact site into three distinct play sections for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Two sections include bucket swings and water sprays. The third has a sandbox and play structure. Bernard Family Playground is wheelchair accessible and free to enter. Daily hours run from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM the next day. Families can choose between water play, swings, and sand within a small Central Park setting.
Historic Berry Grounds
Named for Williamsburg’s first mayor and a heroic doctor, this former hospital site holds a 0.33-acre community playground. Swings and a slide serve younger visitors, with a fountain among the play features. Basketball courts add a separate setting for court users. Cooling spray showers provide water play in warm weather. Entry is free throughout the week, with daily hours from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
