Description

Recognized as the oldest farmers' market in the country held continuously at the same site, the tradition dates back to when George Washington sent produce from Mount Vernon to be sold here. During peak season, more than 70 vendors fan out across the square, offering everything from fresh pasta, cheeses, and pickled vegetables to cut flowers, hot prepared foods, soaps, and jewelry.
