Description

Mills have operated on this Arlington site since the late 1600s, marking it as the oldest continuously operating mill site in the United States. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the location evolved from a 105-year-old family enterprise into a living history museum. Visitors can watch shaft-and-pulley gear and 19th-century elliptical lathes in action, driving the traditional hand-turning processes still used to produce custom oval and circular frames for clients worldwide.
