A scenic coastal path descending Cabrillo's rugged bluffs to the tidepools, with sweeping ocean views along the way.
Description

Starting south of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse at the top of the Whale Watch & Kelp Forest Overlook trail, this path expands Cabrillo National Monument's trail network by over 20%. It provides a car-free route to the tidepools without walking along the narrow road shoulder, connecting directly into the Coastal Trail and the tidepool parking lot. Environmental hazards along the bluffs include fragile cliff faces, toxic plants and animals, and rattlesnakes active during warm weather.
