🎨 Moles Among Murals

Ruta Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine brings its regional menu to Broadway in Astoria, with signature Oaxacan moles at the center of the meal. The dining room pairs pink accents with colorful murals, a change of scene for a casual dinner or a group gathering. A bar stocked with tequila and mezcal keeps drinks part of the conversation.

The kitchen also serves chunky guacamole loaded with vegetables, savory beef tacos, and house made hot sauce. Jose Castillo Reyes, Carlos Arellano, Felipe Arellano, and Iris Castillo founded the restaurant. Reyes started his restaurant career as a dishwasher, before becoming one of the people behind this regional Mexican table.

It opens at noon every day, with closing at 10 PM from Sunday through Thursday and at 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are handled through OpenTable, giving you a way to arrange a table before heading over.
