Portland’s first urban refuge pairs seasonal wetlands and river bluffs with quiet trails teeming with birdlife.
Description

Across more than 160 acres in Southeast Portland, the refuge gathers marshes, woodlands, and open meadows. It is home to over 175 bird species, where spotters can seek out bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and red-tailed hawks alongside resident beavers, river otters, and deer.
Wooded walking paths connect out to the paved Springwater Corridor, leading walkers, runners, and cyclists along a scenic, largely flat route with views across the water and lake.
