Description

Set along the east bank of the Willamette just north of the Sellwood Bridge, this site is Portland's first wildlife refuge and the largest remaining natural area within the lower Willamette River floodplain. In addition to an education tadpole pond, the refuge provides protected habitat for threatened salmon and resident wildlife. For getting around, the Springwater Corridor Trail bisects the western edge, while the North Woodland and Oaks Bluff trails offer scenic hiking and biking opportunities close to the city.
