North Brooklyn Waterfront Walks with Refinery Relics
Spend half a day outdoors with friends, leaving room for conversation and Manhattan skyline views along the East River. Fit a morning garden visit into the outing before its afternoon closing.
Greenpoint and Williamsburg
Greenpoint Between the Towers
At 2 Blue Slip, paved paths follow the East River with views of the Manhattan skyline. The esplanade beside the residential buildings is fully open to the public. It stays open 24 hours every day. Wide, plant-lined sidewalks allow biking and skateboarding. A fenced-off grass lawn is designated for outdoor ball games. Friends can bring a ball for the lawn or take a walk together along the water at their own pace.

Williamsburg Factory Relics
Domino Park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Artifacts from the former Domino Sugar Refinery remain part of the grounds. An elevated walkway adds another route through the park. Friends can follow the waterfront promenade or gather at Refinery Plaza during a morning visit. The lawns offer room to sit by the East River. Include the fog bridge in a walk around the grounds.

A Plot Shaped by Residents
Greenpoint neighbors design and tend Java Street Community Garden together. Fruit trees and raised vegetable beds fill part of this shared space. Look for native pollinator plants during a visit. Solar-powered practices are part of the garden's upkeep. Public hours run Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Plan this final stop with friends before the afternoon closing. The garden is at 59 Java Street.
