Description

Across 600 acres, this landscape holds remnants of an evolving past, named after a Natick Indian chief who fished and hunted along Noanet Brook before timber clearing and milling took hold. The grounds still feature a preserved 24-foot-high dam and 20-foot-deep wheel pit from the Dover Union Iron Company mill, later protected after Amelia Peabody purchased the parcels in 1923. In the woods and wetlands, Pink Lady’s Slipper and Marsh Marigold bloom in season, while four ponds harbor painted turtles, bullfrogs, and skies that draw songbirds and migrating hawks.
