Description

Set across the passenger and freight depots, the museum combines local artifacts and historical displays with scale modeling. Planners and builders work from historical documentation to recreate neighboring communities and industries centered around Niles, including the depots and the Niles Tower at the crossing of the Southern Pacific and Western Pacific railroads. The operating HO and N scale tracks are built by the Tri-City Society of Model Engineers, with the site managed by the non-profit Niles Depot Historical Foundation.
