Nikkei Park
4.6 (802)park
A neighborhood park pairing dinosaur fossil digs with a tribute to the area's early Japanese American farming roots.
Description

Opened in 2021 across five acres, the park takes its community-chosen name from the Japanese word for emigrants and their descendants. The grounds honor the Japanese American truck farmers who cultivated the area and anchored the local food supply—representing 47% of Clark County truck farmers by 1930—before they were forced into prison camps during World War II. Nikkei Park commemorates the legacy of those families with a neighborhood space dedicated to beauty, joy, and a sense of belonging.
