Description

The setting is itself the exhibit: a 1936 subway station, where the collection lives in the original tunnels and platforms. Visitors can walk through vintage train cars spanning several decades, and even read the period advertisements that still line them. The museum extends well beyond the entrance, with galleries of old photos documenting the design and construction of the system. Note that the back mezzanine galleries and Education Center are currently without air conditioning.
