Description

Stepping inside the former 1823 home and shop of America’s first licensed pharmacist, visitors encounter a collection that maps the evolution of healthcare from professional practice to the era of early medicine and quackery. The space retains its original character, displaying an array of historic pharmaceutical tools, surgical instruments, and exotic ingredients. Beyond the clinical artifacts found within the historic apothecary shop, the site includes a quiet courtyard that provides a lingering sense of the building's domestic origins.
