Description

The campus auditorium takes its name from Professor Lewis S. Neeb, who led the Department of Industrial Arts in the 1930s. Beyond the classroom, his work reached deep into the surrounding community: he directed the Civil Aeronautics Authority pilot training program that tied ASU ground instruction to Sky Harbor Airport, and served as president of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce. He also created a visible local tradition, designing and building the lighted star and camels that adorn "A" Mountain each Christmas.
