Description

Constructed in 1882 by the California Southern Railroad, the two-story depot sits alongside active BNSF train tracks. The San Diego Electric Railway Association operates the museum to preserve regional transit heritage from the late 1800s onward. Historic rail cars here range from an 1890 cable/electric car to a retired 1980s San Diego Trolley light rail vehicle, alongside a detailed O-scale model railroad run by the association's 3-Rail group.
