National Cambodian Heritage Museum

4.9 (41)museum

The only museum outside Cambodia honoring the Killing Fields pairs solemn remembrance with living Khmer arts and music.

Description

Established to preserve Khmer arts and culture, the museum documents the 1975–1979 Khmer Rouge genocide, a period during which many artists, writers, and scholars were lost. Alongside memorial archives honoring victims and survivors, the space bridges ancient heritage with contemporary expression through living exhibitions and community events. It also serves as an active gathering space, holding traditional Cambodian music, arts, and dance classes for youth and community members.
