4.8 (28)other
A historic King William lodge that broke early ground in San Antonio for ethnic and religious inclusivity.
Description

Chartered on December 5, 1935, under the Grand Lodge of Texas, the lodge was named for Nat M. Washer, a prominent San Antonio Mason of German and Jewish descent who advocated for inclusivity across faiths and ethnicities. It put that mission into practice by becoming one of the first lodges in the city to welcome members of diverse backgrounds, including Hispanics. After meeting at various locations during its initial 15 years, the lodge settled into its permanent home on City Street in 1950.
