Name a Winery or Two, and a Yountville Outfit Fills In the Rest

A driver-guide takes up to six of you through Napa and Sonoma wine country for six to seven hours, around the stops you request.

Consort Wine Tours, based in Yountville, sells this as a private day in Napa and Sonoma wine country: one vehicle, one driver-guide and six to seven hours for up to six travelers. Request a winery or two, and the operator fills the rest of the day from its own list of trusted wineries. The listing asks travelers to contact the operator ahead of time to settle the stops, the pickup time and the pickup place.

One price covers the vehicle: USD 617.77 on any day of the week, whether one traveler books or six. Bottled water is included. Confirmation is instant, and cancelling at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure gets a full refund.

How the Winery List Gets Built

Reviews from the last few years describe the list coming from both sides. In May 2026 a group wrote that their guide, David, booked them a tasting at Fortunati, their favorite stop of the day, and pulled in at other wineries they wanted to see along the way. A May 2023 group let him plan stops at family-owned places and came away with a new favorite winery, and six friends in March 2025 had him choose the wineries for a Sonoma Valley day. A September 2024 group added a stop of their own and wrote that Peju was "so historical," with an excellent guide. A three-generation family in December 2022 started at a boutique winery with cheese pairings and finished at a slightly larger boutique winery in the Stags Leap area.

The Stop the Listing Names: Oakville Grocery

The one stop the listing itself names is Oakville Grocery on St. Helena Highway, with 90 minutes set aside there; food and drink at the stop are not part of the price. The store traces its history to 1881 and describes itself as one of California's oldest still-operating retail businesses. It sells breakfast pastries, sandwiches and wood-fired pizza, and the Oakville Wine Merchant next door runs a tasting room. A December 2022 family had lunch there with plenty of tastings to choose from, and a June 2024 group called the stop a bonus unlike any place they had seen. The grocery opens at 7:00 AM daily and closes at 5:00 PM Sunday to Thursday and 6:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Water, Air Conditioning and Talk on the Road

Besides the driver-guide and the hours, bottled water is the only listed inclusion. A June 2024 group found the van clean and cool with the air conditioning running on a hot Napa day, with water waiting for them, and six friends in March 2025 called it comfortable and clean. An October 2022 group heard historical background from their guide on the rides between wineries. A September 2025 group of six said the van could not play music or connect to their phones, which made for quiet drives. The same traveler had hoped for Napa history on the road and got answers to the questions the group asked.

Tasting Fees and Tips Sit Outside the Price

The booking excludes gratuities and winery tasting fees; the listing's exclusion line describes those fees as "USD 50 and below per person, per winery." A June 2024 group said the wineries they visited did not break the bank. In September 2025 a traveler who had asked two weeks ahead for small family wineries reached Caymus to find no tasting set up, then got a shortened, half-price tasting at Whitehall Lane, booked the night before. That traveler's advice was to confirm the tasting stops before the trip date, in line with the listing's own request to settle the stops with the operator ahead of time.

The map marks Napa Valley, the area the listing names for pickup; there is no fixed meeting point, and the pickup time and place are agreed with the operator. Hotels on the listing's pickup list are in the city of Napa, among them the Archer Hotel, Andaz Napa, the Westin Verasa and the Napa River Inn. With the driver-guide at the wheel, nobody in the group drives between tastings.
