4.6 (64)museum
Set in a historic Roxbury estate, this museum celebrates Black and African diasporan arts across more than 3,000 works.
Description

Based at the Abbotsford Estate since 1980, the institution pairs its role as a cultural and academic repository with an ongoing platform for established, new, and underrepresented artists of the diaspora. Exhibitions focus directly on issues of social justice, race, and power to catalyze movements and bring communities together. Expanding past gallery walls, the center's music division produces and performs Langston Hughes’s *Black Nativity*.
