Description
Rising 342 meters at the eastern edge of Nara Park, Mount Wakakusa opens out toward views encompassing Todai-ji Temple. A roughly 20-minute walk up leads to unshaded grasslands with benches that face directly toward the sunset. Higher up the slopes sits the 5th-century Uguisuzuka Kofun burial mound, while the entire hillside serves as the venue for the annual Wakakusa Yamayaki festival.
