Description

Rising to 909 feet near the center of San Francisco, this 61-acre reserve provides a peaceful retreat threaded with more than 5 miles of public, multi-use trails. Primarily owned by UCSF and named for former mayor Adolph Sutro, the grounds mix blue gum eucalyptus with Monterey pine, cypress, and a rich understory of native and non-native plants. Paths are shared by hikers and dog walkers, leading upward to Rotary Meadow at the summit and panoramic views across the city.
