Description

Set 822 feet up in La Jolla, the memorial honors veterans across every conflict in U.S. history, from the Revolutionary War to the present day. Rather than collective rolls, the walls carry over 10,000 granite plaques that pair names, photographs, and personal stories for each service member. Run through private support and volunteer docents without government funding, the grounds frame those individual records against a horizon stretching from Coronado Island and the Pacific to the mountains and Tijuana hills.
