Description

Spanning about half a city block, the park was established in 1937 in memory of Margaret “Mother” Waldron, a teacher and volunteer at the nearby former Pohukaina School. Beyond the fenced recreation facilities, the open turf frequently accommodates casual soccer or volleyball, while food trucks occasionally park along the perimeter near neighborhood shops. Mature trees shade benches, tables, and water fountains, though visits come with candid urban conditions, including encampments and persistently closed restrooms in the central building.
