Sunrise to sunset
A steady 870-foot climb leads to the peak on this 4.2-mile trek through protected wildlife habitat.
Description

Also known as the Rockhouse Trail, this medium-challenging route sets out along a 0.5-mile County Trail easement fire road near Mount San Miguel Park before reaching the official trailhead, from which 1.6 miles lead to the peak.
The multi-use trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, and leashed dogs. Under the care of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the surrounding terrain harbors sensitive native species including the federally threatened coastal California gnatcatcher, the endangered Otay tarplant, and the Quino checkerspot butterfly.
