Dating back to 1765 in Harlem Heights, this landmark hosted a long list of historical figures over the centuries, reflecting both the highlights and darker sides of early New York. While exterior renovations temporarily close the interior, visitors can still experience the park-like grounds. A free, reservation-only walking tour provides historical context on the estate and offers a broader look at the development of uptown Manhattan.
