Description

Recognized as the inaugural Grand Prize winner of the Mori Art Award, Katayama Mari presents a solo exhibition organized jointly by the Mori Contemporary Art Foundation and Mori Art Museum. The International Jury commended her practice for how it expands the boundaries of her own body, using analogue photography alongside handicraft techniques such as embroidery and needlework. The gallery presentation centers around an installation incorporating her ongoing 'tree of life' series (2024-).
