MoMA PS1

Established in a Long Island City school building that closed in the 1960s, this landmark is one of the nation's oldest and largest non-profit contemporary art spaces. The galleries showcase site-specific installations alongside temporary projects, which have recently explored themes like the history of Flushing's immigrant workers. The museum is notably compact and easy to explore without the rush or scale of larger institutions, and currently operates under a free admission policy. During the warmer months, the courtyard hosts the Warm Up summer music series.
