Moku Manu Islets Seabird Sanctuary
3.8 (6)park
Twin volcanic islets off Kailua, serving as a protected haven for nesting boobies, shearwaters, and frigatebirds.
Description

Designated as a state wildlife sanctuary off windward Oahu, the site functions as a critical nesting and breeding ground for native Hawaiian seabirds. The colonies include red-footed boobies, brown boobies, wedge-tailed shearwaters, and great frigatebirds. Because of its protected status and fragile ecosystem, public access to the islets is restricted to protect the nesting populations.
