Description
Adapted from a crime novel by Cornell Woolrich, Truffaut's tale of catastrophic amour fou begins on the Island of Réunion, where a plantation owner awaits a mail-order bride who may not be what she seems. He doesn't ask too many questions, since she's Catherine Deneuve, dressed in Saint Laurent's 1968 Rive Gauche. Location-hopping from island to mainland, the romantic thriller unfolds as a dangerous game of identity and obsession.
