Miramar Beach
4.7 (324)park
An open Half Moon Bay coastline where the California Coastal Trail skirts an eroding shore and shifting sands.
Description

Running parallel to Mirada Road between Half Moon Bay and El Granada, this shoreline is visibly shaped by ongoing erosion. A rock barrier guards the pavement above the beach, though during high tides there is no sand exposed to walk on. North of Magellan Avenue, where the old roadway fell into the ocean, the land gives way to Mirada Surf West—an undeveloped open park area once called Vallejo Beach that offers wider pockets of sand than the roadside stretch. Through here, the coastal path provides an active corridor for bikers, runners, and walkers heading north and south.
