Milton Lee Olive Park
4.8 (574)park
A Dan Kiley lakefront park with arched honey locusts, Great Lakes fountains, and sweeping Chicago skyline views.
Description

Designed in 1965 in collaboration with architect Stan Gladych of C.F. Murphy, the ten-acre grounds serve as a scenic gateway to the Jardine Water Purification Plant. Named in honor of Milton Lee Olive III—the first African American recipient of the Medal of Honor in the Vietnam War—the park integrates Milton Horn's sculpture 'Hymn to Water' alongside wide vistas across Lake Michigan.
