Millennium Hotel Knickerbocker Chicago
3.9 (4,111)hotel
A 1927 landmark off the Magnificent Mile, steeped in Chicago lore from Capone-era speakeasies to its Crystal Ballroom.
Description

The hotel has cycled through several distinct chapters since opening in 1927. During Prohibition, Al Capone’s brother ran a casino on the penthouse floor, and in the 1970s the address had a stint as the Playboy Hotel and Towers under Hugh Hefner. Over the years, overnight guests included John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and the Rolling Stones. Inside, the Crystal Ballroom is anchored by a unique illuminated vintage domed ceiling, while everyday spaces include locally focused dining at NiX Restaurant and the hotel's dedicated Martini Bar.
