Mijares Mexican Restaurant
4.3 (2,098)restaurant
Pasadena’s oldest Mexican restaurant pairs century-old family recipes and margaritas with festive patio dining.
Description

The restaurant grew out of a small tortilla factory opened after Jesucita Mijares fled the Mexican Revolution. Today, her daughter Alice and three generations of the family oversee the business, producing tamales and salsas made with a volcanic stone molino. Seating extends from indoor dining to the historic banquet facility where Jesucita once lived, with the family upholding her motto: "Mi casa es su casa!"
