Miami Park
4.1 (64)park
A South Lawndale pocket park featuring a soft-surface playground and ties to the region's Miami Indian history.
Description

Spanning 0.21 acres, the compact grounds operate with no structured programming, leaving organized indoor gym recreation and basketball to nearby Shedd Park. Purchased by the Chicago Park District in 1978, the site was officially named for the Miami Indians in 1998, commemorating the tribal nation whose villages once stood across southwestern Chicago along southern Lake Michigan prior to the 1803 establishment of Fort Dearborn.
