Mexican Street Food Meets a Patio and Secret Speakeasy

Sip tequila and mezcal at Pilsen Yards, where The Alderman offers a separate cocktail lounge tucked inside.

Plan a Pilsen Yards evening.

🍸 Tequila, Mezcal and The Alderman

Pilsen Yards puts Mexican street food and nostalgic Latin cooking at the center of an evening out. Executive chef Juan Gutierrez leads the kitchen, while tequila and mezcal anchor the drinks. The main room is bar centric and music driven, with a square bar seating 30 and one of the largest patios in Chicago. The dining price range runs from 30 to 40 US dollars per person.

Tucked inside is The Alderman, an entirely separate cocktail lounge with a moody feel that recalls a 1930s speakeasy. Lance Bowman is the mixologist for this room.

At 1163 West 18th Street in Pilsen, the weekly schedule runs Wednesday and Thursday from 3 PM to 10 PM, Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM, Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM, with Monday and Tuesday closed.
