Metcalfe (Ralph) Park
4.7 (20)park
An active Grand Boulevard park with sports courts, walking paths, and green space transformed from an old coal yard.
Description

Named for Olympic athlete and politician Ralph Metcalfe, the 6.73-acre park was created in the early 1980s, converting a former dump site into neighborhood recreation space. The grounds are outfitted with a softball field, basketball courts, and tennis courts, as well as a playground renovated in 2016 under the Chicago Plays! Program. Beyond sports, the park is regularly utilized by the community to host family reunions.
