Description

Dedicated on May 15, 1920, the Thomas Hastings-designed structure was built primarily from Vermont-quarried Danby marble to honor American service members during major national holidays. Inside the colonnade, the complex houses a Memorial Chapel alongside a dedicated space featuring exhibits on cemetery history and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Historic inscriptions carved throughout the architecture preserve battle names and quotations.
