Mel Rice - STUDIO CERAMICA

Opened in 2016 by San Franciscan, Mexican artist Mel Rice—who trained in ceramics at Fort Mason Campus for over eight years—this woman-owned space pairs open studio memberships with technical craft. Work flows across a large open floor and a dedicated glazing porch, supported behind the scenes by a full clay recycling system and an onsite chemical lab for mixing custom slips. The studio welcomes all ages, though children 12 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.
