McCoy Park

Set within the New Columbia housing development, the park honors prominent African-American political leaders Bill and Gladys McCoy. Its landscape integrates public artwork, including granite disks etched with cultural proverbs and squirrel- and salmon-sculpted benches by Mufu Ahmed. Activity centers around accessible picnic spots, the McCoy Community Garden, a ramped playground, and an upgraded basketball court renovated with support from Nike and the Portland Trail Blazers.
