Description

Recognized as a wahi pana (sacred, storied place) and wahi kupuna (place of the ancestors), the complex rests within the Hauʻula ahupuaʻa of the Koʻolauloa moku. Protected in 2014 by the Hawaiʻi Land Trust alongside the McGregor ʻohana, the Hauʻula Community Association, and the Koʻolauloa Hawaiian Civic Club, the property encompasses multiple historic points of interest. Ongoing stewardship pairs invasive species removal with active public engagement, including school visits, youth programs, and self-guided cultural tours alongside regular community volunteer days.
