Description

Set atop Beacon Hill along the Freedom Trail, the state capitol remains the working seat of Massachusetts government, housing both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Inside, the halls feature mosaics, historical wall art, and stained glass, setting active civic business directly against its preserved 18th-century roots. The building and its surrounding monuments can be explored through free volunteer-led tours or self-guided walks that offer a look into spaces like the House of Representatives chamber.
