Masquerade at the Capulet Ball Inside Surrogate's Courthouse
A Romeo and Juliet costume ball fills a Beaux-Arts courthouse with aerial dancers, live jazz and DJs for one Saturday night.
🎭 The Ball
🏛️ A Courthouse Turned Ballroom
On Saturday, October 17, Somewhere Nowhere, Astarte Creative and BABËL turn Surrogate's Courthouse at 31 Chambers Street into the House of Capulet for one night. The costume ball borrows its story from Romeo and Juliet and mixes Renaissance excess with club-kid fashion. Aerial dancers, acrobats, winged cupids and living statues move through the halls, and a choreographed Romeo and Juliet first dance is planned for 10:00 PM.

🎧 DJs, Jazz and the Private Galleries
Natasha Diggs heads the DJ lineup with Orson b2b Kozlow and Manu Muchuli, and The Hot Toddies Jazz Band, a New York hot jazz and swing group, joins as the live band. Doors open at 8:00 PM to live strings and harp, and a vogue ballroom finale is planned for 11:00 PM, though the running order may change. Upstairs, the private galleries look down over the ballroom from balcony tables for four to eight guests.

👑 Tickets and Dress Code
Costume is required, and the house expects masquerade and extravagant dress, from brocade and pearls to fallen angels. Ticket types include general admission, VIP admission with priority entry, and upstairs balcony tables, and prices vary by ticket type. Tickets were still on sale on October 15. Guests must be 21 or older with a valid government-issued ID, all sales are final, and the ball runs until 1:00 AM.
