Rather than a buttoned-up gallery, the venue feels more like a studio or community space. The display areas—including the Main Exhibition Hall, the Rainforest Art Gallery, and the Yu Art Studio—were designed by the artist's engineer husband. Inside, the well-traveled artist's work uses strong colors and powerful imagery to mix nature and interpretation. Yu, who continues to paint in her 90s, uses the space to carry forward an environmental message, showing art that looks to jump right off the canvas.
