Mare Island Brewing Co. – First Street Taphouse
bar
Craft beers, draft cocktails, and seasonal fare meet in an 1890s building with a storied past and a streetside parklet.
Description

Set in historic downtown Benicia, this food-forward taproom occupies an address with an unusually colorful resume. Built in the 1890s as Elsie's House, the property transitioned through lives as a boarding house, a former bordello, and the second-floor studio of sculptor Robert Arneson. Beyond the bar's taps and wine list, the venue regularly programs live music and trivia nights, with seating spread across the indoor quarters and a spacious streetside patio parklet.
