Description

Acquired in 1921 and once known as Perennial Gardens for its formal plantings, the grounds were later renamed for adjacent Maple Street. Today, the Park District’s third largest park is linked by a continuous walking path connecting the north and south ends. Along the route, updates have brought a children’s playground with climbing boulders and a rubberized surface, two ballfields with upgraded backstops, a picnic shelter, and lighted tennis courts featuring pickleball stripes.
