Maple Canyon Open Space

Set between Bankers Hill and Mission Hills near downtown San Diego, the canyon holds a network of hiking paths lined with native plants, resident birds, and the occasional coyote. The trail winds past old cabins and guides walkers directly under the Quince Street Bridge. It offers more rugged footing than a standard city park, though active construction nearby can periodically punctuate the outing with noise.
