Description

Once a closed-off lot, this public space was created over an active DEP shaft site that requires ongoing utility access. Because of these subterranean constraints, planting is restricted, leaving the plaza with no trees or shade. Instead, the design features giant pebbles and perimeter seating. While some find the sparse setup disappointing, it offers a clean nook to clear your mind or drink a coffee, though the open exposure means it can get scorching during the summer.
