🧵 Decades of Vintage Style

A stop at Screaming Mimis reveals a Manhattan vintage clothing boutique arranged by era. The parlor floor space stocks archival fashion, accessories, and theatrical pieces sorted by decade. Racks guide visitors through sixties mod shift dresses, seventies bohemian prints, and eighties party wear. The selection also includes second-hand theater costumes prepared for themed gatherings and holiday celebrations.

Founder Laura Wills opened the space in 1978 and sources garments from flea markets, auctions, and private estates. Browsers can assemble retro looks with assistance from in-house stylists, while inventory spans from eight dollars for small accessories to fifteen hundred dollars for rare designer outerwear.

The shop occupies the parlor floor at 240 West 14th Street. Doors open Monday through Saturday from noon to 8 PM, while Sunday hours run from 1 PM to 7 PM.
