Makapuu Beach Park
5.0 (15)park
Tucked beneath dramatic sea cliffs, this rugged beach draws experienced bodysurfers to its powerful shorebreak.
Description

Set on Oahu’s southeastern tip, the park pairs golden sand and crystal-clear water with views stretching toward the distant Makapuu Lighthouse. Out in the surf, strong conditions draw bodyboarders, though heavy shorebreak and currents mean swimming can be dangerous for inexperienced visitors. On land, picnic areas offer space to take in the coastal scenery, while the park also serves as a starting point for nearby hiking trails.
